Do What You Should and Not What You Want

Romans 2:6-9 (KJV)
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile...

*In the words of Mya Angelou, "When you know better, you do better." The same applies to the given scripture: God understands that no one is perfect; otherwise, there wouldn't have been a need forJesus to die for our sins. However, that doesn't mean that u have free reign to consider to do the same things over and over again. Being in sin and not properly seeking God will have its consequences and will cause more struggles. It is not to say He won't forgive you, but you have a choice and the consequences from those choices are undeniable. When you do your best to seek God, even when u stumble, your efforts are still rewarded bc you are giving it your all and trying. But, when u willingly toe the line of sin or decide to let others do the work while you do what u believe is best, then you will be leaning on your own understanding and suffer the consequences for such behavior. So, if u know better then do better bc being stuck in a rut doesn't get you anywhere. What it does get you is desperation and eagerness, which leads to poor judgment and unsound decision making. Serve Him to the fullest and dedicate yourself to Him in order to reap the fullness of what He has for you.
