Sobering Focus

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, Titus 2:11‭-‬12 NKJV

Living a godly lifestyle keeps our minds focused on the right things, God's guidance, and our purpose. This is what it means to be sober minded...You see what is of God, what is really important, and do not become distracted by little things entities that can get you off course. I personally have to remind myself of this,  and when I feel weak I pray harder and God sends the right people to keep me sober. We can become "drunk" with things that are designed to make us upset, catch us off guard, the baby crap of the ignorance of other people. However, when your mind stays on God, you care less and less about those things that never mattered from the start. Revamp and refocus with me...Our life and purpose depend on it. What is distracting you?

Haters Should Not Hate

A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones. Proverbs 14:30 NKJV

*There is no need in hating...We all have our own walks in Christ, and blessings to receive that are greater than we can imagine. The sooner you embrace that, the more peace you will have...

With God, All Things are Possible

He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:19‭-‬24 NKJV

*What I love about this story is how God illustrates faith, and how calm you are suppose to be when you have faith. Can you imagine a demon convulsing in a person, and Jesus just stands there cool, calm, and collect while being unbothered and asking a question? He isn't moved by chaos. I also LOVE the vulnerability of the dad who is asking for help in believing, and Jesus helps his unbelief..The dad seemed drained, but still knew to cry out with what little faith he had to ask for help. We all can cry out to God that way. I know I have..Most importantly, we need to prepare for change. The disciples desired to help, but were unprepared. Are you prepping yourself in God to make a difference in your life, and the lives of others?

Healing and Guidance

And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. II Kings 5:13‭-‬14 NKJV

*This is a primary example of why it pays to have the right people in your life. Even when the guy with leprosy got in attitude about the way HE THOUGHT he should be healed, someone was there to remind him to be obedient, and do things the way the prophet told him...Not what he thinks should happen. Sometimes the way you think a blessing will come is not the way God sends it. Don't be so influenced by your own thoughts that you can't receive it another way. Also, surround yourself with people who will not be "yes" men, but those who will lovingly tell you when you are wrong, and guide you to the right source or way. Notice I said "lovingly," and not harshly. Also, these people have your back for real. The whole chapter is worthy of reading...
