Evaluate Your Motives
But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. Matthew 6:3-4 NKJV
*It's that time of year when people may volunteer, give, or do things for others. However, think about your motive...Are you doing it to be seen, and seem better than others? Are you wanting attention? Or, is it really coming from the heart? Why do you need to tell the world, or are you being led by God to tell in order to be a light. If the focus is on anything except God's glory, you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Would you rather humans notice you for a moment, or God to honor you for a lifetime?
