Endurance = Patience

Colossians 1:11-12

11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

*This is the time of year when many become antsy about goals they set for the new year, or perhaps you are thinking about what wasn't accomplished. Did you ever think about the possibility that you still may need to grow? Perhaps you may need more preparation for what you desire, or God is working things out and it takes time to bring things all together. Having patience and endurance to finish what you start, wait to receive instructions from the Lord, and properly carrying out those instructions may cause some situations to be uncomfortable. However, you are qualified to carry out a purpose or task if you are willing to run the race of faith and act when prompted.  Therefore, as the year ends and the new one begins, don't look around and compare yourself to others. Stay focused on the possibilities and instructions God gives you, and remember that faith is what carries you while acting is what sees you through...Are you up for the endurance challenge in order to obtain what you desire?

Fill Up

John 6:35  (ESV)

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.,"

*Every time we yearn for something, develop a desire, or so much as slightly yearn for something, it is always obtainable if it lines up with God's word. We do not have to starve or wait around for God to fill us or fulfill His promises. He is waiting on us to ask for guidance, and be filled with knowledge on how to move forward. Become filled with God, and get full off of His word in order to never want for anything because of His promises. Don't let the ability to savor in His goodness go by the wayside, leaving you empty. Be filled and full...

Where the Heart is...

Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)- And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

*People often wonder why they have a hard time in life, why are they unable to move forward, why do they have so many haters, or what is the issue with others...Perhaps it could be due to the vibes you give off, the salty attitude you portray, the judgment you may unknowingly casting, the words you speak that cause others to act negatively towards you, or your lack of forgiveness. There are so many individuals who feel they have a point to prove, that they need to "get them before they get me," or perhaps you are speaking on something you know nothing about while casting negativity while holding to unforgiveness that is dwelling in your heart. Many of these behaviors derive from a know-it-all spirit, rather then using knowledge and trying to understand the other person. You may feel as though what has normally occurred based upon your past or other situations is how it will be always; therefore, you act accordingly. Don't allow negativity, rudeness, hurt, or your lack of knowledge of an attire situation impair you from being kind, loving, forgiving, and compassionate. Instead of hardening your heart, try showing tenderness. You never know the extent of any situation; therefore, don't make it about you...Make it about God, and allow His words and actions to flow through you. This is not to say you will never take authority of something, but being smart, rude, or showing disdain all the time isn't walking in love...

Fainting is Failure

Galatians 6:9-10 (NIV)

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

*One thing about belivers is we have faith, but often give in if the blessijg doesn't come right away, or if it takes more work on our part. God is in the blessing business, but sometimes things do not just fall out of the sky. We have to put forth effort to obtain the desires of our heart, learn people, and be open to God's guidance in order to utilize the correct amount of effort towards performing good works. We can't just pick and choose who we will treat well, what we will put positive energy into, or what's worth it to us. We have to place spiritual energy and efforts in EVERY aspect of our lives. Let's pray that we all grow in this area, and are able to push forward in kindness without giving up...

Let Go & Let God

Proverbs 4:25 ESV

Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.

*A lot of times we like to look back, while comparing our past with present or future situations. However, history only repeats itself if you let it. It's important that we ask God to help our minds be open to new things and experiences, and that we stop being caught in a time warp through consistently basing things on the past. You have the ability to truly forgive and forget the way God does in order to move forward by being baggage free. Yet, if you keep looking back, how will you ever realize or even recognize something new. I'm sure you have heard of the phrase, "let go and let God." Therefore, let go of feelings and apprehension of the bad things you've experienced in order to make room for Him to make all things new...

The Evolution of Love

Romans 12:9-16 (MSG) Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down. Get along with each other; don't be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don't be the great somebody.

*Today, God laid the lesson of love on my heart. Many of us say we love God, but are constantly being rude or looking down on each other. Even saying you are going to do something for or with someone with no intention of ever accomplishing that task shows lack of love....To say one thing to a person, but treat them with the opposite behavior is not love, and to manipulate a situation or act in selfishness is a falsified love as well. Today, let's truly think on how we love and treat others, and ask yourself are you really loving the way God tells us to do so?...OR, have you modified the meaning of the word for your own selfishness? The meaning of love never changes, but the actions behind it should always be evolving. How is your love walk going?

Accepting Grace

Hebrews 4:16

16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence,so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

*Every time you continue to sow, give praise, seek the Father, be obedient, and act in accordance to His will you are being bold in your pursuit of grace...God wants us to have confidence in His ability to cover us and move things in our lives. However, we must willingly act on approaching Him, and be bold enough to remind Him of His promises. If you are seeking alternatives outside the perfect will of God, you do not operate in enough boldness to believe in His capabilities. Stretch your faith, listen for guidance, and establish a more solid relationship with the Father to understand and be able to accept His grace and mercy.

The True Meaning of Love

Romans 5:8 (KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

*God's love extends far beyond whether or not we are worthy of His care...He loves unconditionally regardless to our circumstance and state of mind. Therefore, why can't we show that same type of love? Why do things have to go our way, be picture perfect, or in accordance to our terms in order to show love to one another? Even more so, why aren't we loving others in order to promote change and provide comfort? There is often a thorough evaluation done before we even show friendliness towards a person...Let alone love them. Now, that's not to say that you should be naive or operate in foolishness. However, if Christ loves us through our mess and suffered in order to provide a better opportunity, then why can't we do the same as we are led by the Father? The standard in which you hold others to is the one you will be held accountable to; therefore, love hard and act to assist in advancing the kingdom by allowing the Holy Spirit to impact your heart.

Limitless in Christ

1 John 9:20-21 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.

*We all have a calling on our lives, but if we choose to do other things outside of God's will, or use our gifts in the world to fuel darkness then we fail. Do not circum to the limitations of what the world places on you, but embrace your calling and be guided by God where the sky is the limit.

Rewards of Focusing on God

Psalm 37:4 ESV

Delight yourself in the Lord , and he will give you the desires of your heart.

*Notice that before receiving the things of God, we must focus on Him. Focusing requires the ability to get more in tune with the word, seek God for guidance, being obedient and stop procrastinating, and remove elements of us doing what we feel vs what is right. A feeling alone only lasts for a moment and fulfills only what we desire at that time. However, obeying an unction from the Holy Spirit can impact you long term, and continue to provide balance over the course of your life. There is no desire that is to small or great for God to provide. It's just up to us whether we are ready to incorporate Him in our lives, decisions, and desires that will determine when or even if something or someone will manifest through His perfect will. Seek God first, and all things will be added (Matt. 6:33).

Keeping the Faith

 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

*Stay encouraged no matter what it feels like, how it looks, or regardless to what you hear. Remember that we walk by faith and not by sight. Therefore, be guided by your faith in order to confidently ask God for help, but humble enough to let Him guide you regardless to how you feel. Be brave enough to take action, but smart enough to be led on how to move forward. Remember that all things work for the good of those that love Christ; therefore, each test is a testimony and every lesson is a blessing that is meant for you to share with others. They say you are what you eat, but the reality is that you are what you defeat...

Royalty Beyond Riches

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

*When you make a decision to accept God into your life and serve Him, you become a part of a royal lineage and powerful blood line. You are no longer in line with the world, but placed above it because you now have more help, spiritual guidance, unconditional favor, and divine protection. It doesn't matter about your past because God sees you as being brand new, and His view is the only view that matters. Embrace how the Father sees you, the benefits of His royalty, and do not sell yourself short. It's so easy to settle with what you're use to, but it's far better to be open to the many possibilities from His view and ability to help you gain.

What Can Man Do to Me?

Hebrews 13:6 ESV

6 So we can confidently say,

“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”

*Many times we are concerned with the opinion of others whether we want to admit it or not. We often do things we don't want to do, hang around people that do not help us grow, and hide things to avoid the opinions. However, at the end of the day, who is this really hurting? That would be you...You avoid shouting from the mountain tops about a blessing you've inherited; you are the one who ends up wasting your time; or you are the one that inhibits your situation to receive and grow because you are concerned with catering to others, rather then working towards pursuing the next level and being touched by God. Why do we do this? What can man do to you that allows you to stay in this type of bondage? At the end of the day, who cares what others think of you if you have the approval of God? Don't miss out on being a testimony, true friendships, the right mate, your calling, growth, understanding yourself, and the blessings of Abraham for opinions that do not matter and actions that can't hinder you unless you allow them to...

Worship Beyond Your Words

Romans 12:1 ESV

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

*Every time we deny our bodies, hearts, and minds from participating in things that are not of God, we are worshipping Him. When we choose to do this, we are letting God know that He is more important then any momentarily feeling or pleasure that only last for a short time while His love endures forever. This is your way of TRULY showing appreciation towards Him. He loves you, and wants you to avoid unnecessary hurts, failures, and experiences. We will go through enough without adding more to it. Every time you deny the temptation of the enemy, a grace is put on you to move forward in that lifestyle...Pure, holy, and concentrated on excelling in God. This is how we move to the next level, effectively carry out His will, and receive the blessings He has for us. Therefore, next time you have a choice to do the wrong or right thing, ask yourself is it really worth it???

Is It Really Approved?

Galatians 1:10 ESV

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

*You would be surprised to know how many times in a day we are after approval...We seek approval from our performances at work, from our friends or family when we ask for advice, or even within ourselves when look in the mirror or compare our current state to our past. Regardless of the measures in which you may do this, it is an act of wanting to feel justified by any means that you prefer to make yourself feel better. However, ask yourself why the opinion of others matters to you...Even more so, what effort are you willing to put forth to  receive their approval? Now, is that effort more then the effort you put forth towards God? Does His opinion even matter to us, or is it tossed to the side due to your lack of connecting or desiring Him? Everything we do and say carries a reason behind it, but does that reason line up with God's thoughts of you or plans for you? Today, let's pray we each become more focused on the goal God has set for us (Philippians 3:15-16) and the plans He has for our lives...AND LESS focused on seeking short-term approval from others. If we seek God first, then favor with people will come automatically.

Light It Up

John 8:12 ESV

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

*We live in a dark world, but that doesn't mean we have to be in the dark about the answers to life or even embrace dark situations. Jesus is the light of the world, and a lantern unto our path...He provides security, clarity, protection, and guidance no matter what we face on Earth. If you are a part of the insecurities and the lack of stability of darkness, it's because you choose to be that way. Find your way out by moving into the light...Darkness suppress while light addresses...Seek clarity for yourself through God.

Beyond Your Needs

Proverbs 27:10 ESV

Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend, and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.

*A lot of times people only go to others, including so called friends, when they are in need. There is almost the concept of pulling someone out like a tissue, (only when u need them), using them, and then throwing them away after they have satisfied your need. People even throw others away if they are unable to meet your needs, despite how kind the person is to you...You may he throwing away a divine connection, and you don't even realize it. This is why it is important to learn to understand those that God places in your life, reach out to them other then when you need something, and ask the Father if and how to grow with the individual. It is better to establish a bond and be close to someone, then be distant from them until you feel like you need something and want to be bothered with them. Now, of course, everyone is not meant to be in your inner circle; however, all people were not meant for you to utilize only to satisfy your need either. Look beyond yourself to ask God who to connect and grow with, and who is the vessel that can further assist you. Remember, your help comes from God. Therefore, seek Him first in order to avoid being misguided or assisting in the mistreatment of others.

Guidance in Verbiage and Actions

Proverbs 25:15 (ESV)

15 With patience a ruler may be persuaded, and a soft tongue will break a bone.

*Every situation is not meant to be handled with aggression or force. Sometimes it's the kindness behind a suggestion, and the gentleness secured in an uplift that causes change to occur and persuasion to happen. Think about the last time you judged, went off on, forced, got smart with, or "stated your piece" without considering God's guidance or walking in love. Did it go over well? We are called to cause change, and persuade hearts...This in turn impacts our own, but it is all in how you say it more so then what is said. Yes, be bold...But, does that mean be bitter or boastful? Sure, be passionate...But, does it that mean be forceful? There is a time and place for everything, but use God's timing to act according to His guidance, and speak the way you are led...

Job 42:2

"I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted."

*I'm sure many of us know that God is capable of doing all things. However, the part that often holds us back is building our faith to believe that, and asking for guidance rather then acting prematurely. Sure, faith without works is dead, but have you asked God what it takes on your end to receive the full manifestation? Or, do you tend to jump to conclusions or block out His suggestions? Today, I want to provide you with a link on how to build your faith. Copy and paste it in your Google browser, and let's pray for each other that we are guided by God as we meditate on His word. Remember, we are what we believe. In being transparent, I stumble, but I still hold on and act on my belief for greater.

Trust God Within to Outwardly Receive

Isaiah 43:1-2 (NIV)

But now, this is what the Lord says—
    he who created you, Jacob,
    he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

*God made us; therefore, He knows everything about us, what we will face, and the decisions we plan to make. He has placed a calling on all of our lives with a specific pathway to follow. However, it is up to us to embrace Him and except the fact that He knows what's best, while we are still trying to figure ourselves and things out. This week, let's pray that we all learn to let go and let God without making our own decisions from assumptions, getting in our own way, or focusing on the here and now instead of the blessings and possibilities to come if we only trust Him.

The Blessing of the Lord is Here

Psalm 3:2-6New International Version (NIV)

Many are saying of me,
    “God will not deliver him.”
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.

*Many believe in the miracles that happen for others, and that there are limitless possibilities because of the favor that someone else has, but God does not show favoritism (Romans 2:11). His sustainability, grace, and mercy are for all who are willing to receive it. Even His blessings are a free for all, if we are obedient enough to listen to Him on how to obtain them.No matter what we face, what's happening around us, or what we have done, God is ready to work it out. He sustains through the storm, and has the capability to bless us, due to our steadfast faith, beyond our imagination. Today let's pray for each other to hold fast to that sustainability, and be willing to look beyond ourselves to uplift and call out blessings for others as well as for ourselves.

Divine Connection

Ephesians 2:9 (NIV)

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household...

*In this chapter, it talks about who we are when we choose to accept Christ in our life. Together, we should now be joined together through our faith in accepting Him and His blood that covers us all, and brings us altogether as one body. Therefore, we should not act foreign towards one another, past judgment as if we have never been in sin, or be unwilling to reach out to people if God places them on your heart. If you are truly striving to connect yourself to Christ, you must be willing to connect yourself to His people genuinely. A connection is not just something to pretend you are doing, but a divine right and responsibility that is placed upon you. Build upon this by building your relationship with Christ, and examining your thought process vs your actions. How truly close are you to God, and those He has placed in your path?

Food for Thought: Your Assignment

Before you volunteer for something, always ask yourself if it lines up with God's will and if you are suppose to be a part of that situation...Remember, an assignment is ASSIGNED to you. Otherwise, you have now brought unnecessary stress on yourself...#Be Equipped & #Led *ALSO, for those who like to give assignments without asking God, stop forcing people to do things for your benefit unless God is telling u it's your blessing!!! Otherwise, it may be a lesson you need to learn ON YOUR OWN...

Under Subjection

1 Corinthians 6:12 (KJV)
All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

*God has the power to do all things, and provide anything your heart desires. However, all things aren't necessarily beneficial for us or will come as quickly as others. This is determined by how God utilizes the word "epedient" in this verse. Expedient refers not only to whether something is for your good or profit, but it also defines how quickly things can occur. Some blessings take a longer process then others, and require that you grow in order for them to be beneficial to you. If you received any and everything based on your own timing, then you may be setting yourself up for failure because you are neither ready nor aware of how to handle such a gift. Also, some things do not assist in bettering your situation or enhancing your calling, which is why they are not given to you. If you truly submit to God's perfect will for your life, you will not only be aware of His capabilities, but of His protection through proactive methods. Therefore, next time you find yourself wondering whether something/one is for you or why something hasn't happened, ask yourself this: Is this entity something that I'm trying to subject under God, or am I trying to place God's power under the subjection of this thing or person? God should always be first before anything...True value is not based on how you compare God's value in your life to things, but how that thing measures up to God's will....

Not Something Old or Borrowed, but NEW

Jeremiah 33:3New International Version (NIV)

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know...

*Have you ever asked someone for advice?...Better yet, perhaps you have asked multiple people about the same topic, and they all may come up with the same or similar answers? Even if the answers differ, it may be something you already realized yet didn't think about or want to own up to...That's just how humans work. Generally, people base results and conclusions for experiences off what the majority have experienced or gone through, or what you are limited in knowing. HOWEVER, God always has new and innovative ways of doing things, providing solutions that no one has thought about, and going beyond the expectation that most humans are prone to stop at or fall short with deciphering. Everything links together in order to create the correct, final result. He wants us to call upon Him first for ideas, solutions, plans, and potential options ...Then, He will provide the sources and guidance on how to achieve things, or uncover what is right for you and perhaps ONLY you. SO, if you feel like there is more to it then what people say, it probably is because they can only see so far beyond a limitation. However, God supercedes our expectations to clarify and obtain things we may never uncover without Him. I challenge all of us to pray for each other today in getting out of the cycle of limitations, living only based on your experience or someone else's, and ask the Father His advice. Then, look for peace as guidance. There is nothing wrong with seeking counsel because God tells us to do that, but wouldn't you want to turn to the greatest source and then be led to your next connection?

Growing Pains

Doing things in life that you WANT to do is easy, but doing those things that you DON'T WANT to be bothered with...Now, THAT builds character...#Growth

Uniquely Made

1 Corinthians 3:16-17King James Version (KJV)

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

*Good morning, or evening for some of you...This morning, God revealed to me how many of us are in comparison mode. Although some of us say we do not compare our lives to others, or we just "happen" to notice things, there are still even the slightest debates that occur in your head that cause you to ask yourself why? "Why is it that I do this, but a person who does that receives what I have always wanted?...Maybe if I do something like another person, even though I slightly altar it to fit me, I will receive the same results"...OR, you may even find yourself in comparison with another, while believing that your opinion and way is more profound then the walk of another person. God is here to tell you that the spirit of God dwells in you to guide you in the way YOU should go....There is no need to compare, or become critical of another's situation if you believe and allow God's guidance to occur. Every time you altar yourself or your behavior just because of others or because you feel like it, you are defiling your temple...the temple that God built with excellence, a purpose, and specifications that are in His image to carry out tasks for His will and for your betterment. If you make unnecessary changes without His permission, you not only hinder yourself, but you hinder your ability to be fully recognized or carry out assignments that have been narrowly tailored for you. So, the next time you compare the slightest of things ask yourself if that's God asking you to change, or the enemy trying to confuse with a lifestyle or look that is not your own...

Trusting Our Father

Proverbs 3:5-6New International Version (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

*It's so easy to let go of the idea of trusting God. Think about it: Every time we plan something and forget to consult with Him, that's lacking in trust; making certain moves or taking action without His permission is lack of trust; lastly, and one I fight with, is worry...Worry removes trust and hinders favor because you are too overcome by the circumstance to realize the possibilities. Let's pray for each other in this area. Trusting God opens the door of clarity and possibilities.

The Truth of His Awareness

Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV)

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

*God knows who you currently are, where you came from, and your purpose for your future. He is also aware of every thought, hidden agenda, plan of action, or process you have participated in while being on Earth. He CREATED YOU...Therefore, there is no need to hide things from Him. You may as well be honest, even if you are living one way and pretending with others...He knows you. The best part is that through it all, He loves you. Therefore, love Him, and let Him know what's going on. We all could talk more with God...Today, pray for people who may be living a lie, unaware of how much God cares, or may have lost hope.

Trial by Faith

Hebrews 5:1-5 (ESV)
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

*Trials will come our way, and tribulation is often placed upon us as a form of discouragement. However, when you are in Christ, you have a more powerful source then any coping mechanism that the world offers...You have the blood of Jesus and the power He has bestowed in us to overcome. We come to Him by faith for assistance, and He provides us with guidance on how to see our way through; endurance that shapes and molds into individuals that cannot only withstand the test of time, but a person who is now ready for the next phase of blessings; and then He grants us with deliverance, no matter what it looks like, because we trusted in Him. So, rather then the muffled suppressants that are temporary, our Lord in Savior provides us with full deliverance and the ability to end things once and for all. There is no other way to receive such a wonderful finale of overcoming it all, and growing stronger in Him.

Trial By Fire

Proverbs 3:11-12 ESV

My son, do not despise the Lord ’s discipline or be weary of his reproof,  for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

*Every trial is actually setting up the opportunity for a divine appointment, every test is the beginning of a testimony, and every issue is the initiation of growth to get us to the next level. The only thing that stands between us from the process's beginning to end are the actions we take, and whether trust is created between God and ourselves. May we pray for each other's strength in the Lord, and to receive understanding on what we are suppose to learn and receive during these times....#ThinkBeyondYourself

It's All in the Mind

1 Samuel 12:24 (ESV)

24 Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.

* I know we all have asked ourselves what are we doing, if this is for us, or why do we even bother? Even though it seems as though things can't be understood, are a waste of time, or you may even wonder why you were given the assignment in the beginning, know that everything is a process of moving you forward towards greater. Most importantly, every opportunity is a chance for you to represent God, reach out to his people, and be a living testimony. After all, if you can represent well during trying times or with the little things, it only opens the door for you to receive greater. When things begin to aggravate you, think of God and focus on all He has done for you rather then the few bad time that He is always capable of bringing you through. Most importantly, your faithfulness now determines the well-being of your outcomes and final results later.

Love Changes Things

Romans 12:9-10 (ESV)

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

*When we do something for someone, it should never be forced or regretted. Our actions should be filled with God's love. We also, should not be in expectation for repayment or trying to make someone earn our love. For the love of God is free, and His mercy endures forever. Too many times people bring up what they have done for someone, try to manipulate people because of what they have done, use people for what they can do, or have a poor motive of needing attention or trying to force change in a connection that's based on what you chose to do for someone. Your reward comes from God, and may come through another vessel other then the one u sowed into...Also, we do not manipulate people into giving, or cop an attitude when they do not give because that's motivated by leaning on your own understanding. God is love, and His love comes free without trying to force something out of or with  someone. It is not our job to change people, but to love them in faith that God's love through us will make a change.

Compassion = Growth

Leviticus 19:18 ESV

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

*Throughout the Bible, it speaks of how we should view and treat people. There is often a reference of love, and the indication of how much love to give by viewing the person as you view yourself. Let's go deeper in that: Some people are always saying that they don't understand how or why someone could do something. I have even heard or even criticized others myself in regards to their actions or thought process. Now, let's check out how God wants us to view them: If we place ourselves in their shoes, their once was a time when we weren't living right, weren't  familiar with something, or sought compassion and didn't find it based on a subject that was unclear to us. Wouldn't you want to break the chain of judging people on topics they don't know about, or criticizing them for what could be strong holds or habits that they have trouble letting go? You see, we acquire wisdom in areas not to keep to ourselves, or use it as a way to judge people. We are meant to share it to uplift one another, teach each other, and have compassion whether you have been there and done that or known someone who has...Therefore, really think before your assume, criticize, or make haste to dismiss. Perhaps that person was placed in your life to not only help them grow, but to help you develop as well...particularly in seeing them the way Christ would.

Pray Before You Act

Zechariah 7:9-10 (ESV)

9 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, 10 do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

*No matter what level you are on in Christ, poor judgment, inconsideration, ungodly conversation, and lack of love and kindness has occurred among many of us. Some are quick to jump to assumptions without being honest enough to admit that they don't know the full story, nor do you even take the time to understand the person. Others often harden their hearts and not allow the right element in, while confusing this with the idea of protecting themselves. This is actually the first step towards loneliness, isolation, and perhaps even limiting yourself to a by avoiding the challenging but yet rewarding experience of meeting new people. Other individuals tend to group those who are different, make an assumption, and isolate yourself from people who are not like you. Then lastly, there is the ever so slight moment of devising evil against someone who you think wronged you. People often do something as simple as plan not to speak to an individual, or you may have even taken steps to seek revenge. Yet, you haven't bothered to communicate the issue with your brothers and sisters. Notice that all these behaviors go against the love of God. Now, please do not confuse His love with the idea of letting everyone in your close circle. Always seek God for guidance and balance, but there is no reason for poor judgment, misconceptions, misunderstanding, lack of showing love, lack of witnessing, or isolating yourself to one group. You never know how you are meant to be used as a vessel to impact a life for Christ. Therefore, consult with God in everything you do and say before you take your ideas and behaviors into your own hands...You may be missing out on your blessing...

More Then What It Seems

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)- Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

*Labor Day is a holiday that allows most people to enjoy a day off work. It also initiates the idea that summer is coming to an end, and that fall is on its way. It can be a day of lounging, taking off from the usual hussle and bussle of life, and/or enjoying friends and family. Life offers many opportunities for you to take a break and chill, which is fine. However, there are no days off when it comes to being a part of God's kingdom and carrying out His will. We are expected to represent Him to the fullest, seek opportunities that He provides to reach the lost, and pray without ceasing. We are also encouraged to be aware of evil, distractions, and think beyond ourselves in order to be open to His instructions. Therefore, enjoy your time to relax, but don't let your guard down. There is much to edify within ourselves, plenty to seek in order to receive all God has for you, and many to reach as we come to not just a close of a season, but a close in time when we no longer have to be bothered with the cares of this world. Don't just go through life as instructed or insinuated by a holiday; Live it to the fullest by impacting, reacting, and being on one accord with God's will and instructions to make the most out of life. We have more to look forward to then just a holiday, and I am so ready for it as I hope you are...

You Are Worth So Much More...

Luke 12:6-7 (ESV)

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

* Sometimes we all have those moments when we think we have been forgotten by God...Moments when you just accept life, let go, and claim that "it is what it is." That springs from thinking God has forgotten...forgotten about your deepest desires, providing you with a pathway to reach goals, or perhaps you think He is too busy with larger things to even be troubled with you and your "little" things. So, you become complacent, accept any old thing, settle, or take things as they come rather then hitting it head on with the force of God. I get it, trust me...I'm there, but operating in this mindset means we have forgotten our value. This is the value of our place in His kingdom, and the price that was paid to save us. No matter what, remember your worth and His promises if you have dedicated your life to Him. Save yourself from the restraints and low value of the world, and receive your inheritance through Him. Let's pray for each other in this area, and ask the Father for guidance in receiving what we are worth...

Consider

Luke 6:31 (ESV)

Do to others as you would have them do to you.

*People are famous for always wanting attention, expecting others to be able to relate to them, or desiring to have their way. Some individuals will even cut others off if those who they are connected to do not adhere to their wishes, or give them the gifts or attention they feel they deserve. Now, let's place the shoe on the other foot: How does it make you feel when people treat you this way?...When a person is in demand, wanting all your time, demanding you stop what you're doing to answer them now, satisfy their need, or is inconsiderate then...What emotions does this trigger for you? You see, it is so easy to place demands on others that you are unwilling to adhere to yourself. Let's practice being the person we want others to be toward us, and take others into consideration as we would want them to do in our given situations...

Overflowing by Grace

John 15:16 (ESV)

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

*Every encounter you have with God, the feelings you have, the word you receive,or the good thoughts that run across your mind are not by accident...It is God reaching out to you, and calling you to live a lifestyle for Him. He also wants to give you all the things He promised, but it takes going deeper in Him. Now, sometimes God will meet us where we are in our faith, but this can also cause you to sell yourself short. For instance, if you are asking God for $100, you could be selling yourself short from receiving more then enough. He loves you enough to give you what you ask, but think of how He views you: You are a precious child of God who has a calling...a gift to share to glorify Him. Why sell yourself short? Let's focus more on growing our faith for bigger and better, including God in our plans, and asking for His will to be done and for you to be equipped with more then enough to carry it out...

Brand New

1 Corinthians 3:19-20 (ESV)

19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

*It's so easy to lean on your own understanding when it comes to situations or giving advice. Often, we refer back to pass experiences as a deciding factor of how we should handle a present circumstance. We should learn from the past, but that doesn't mean that you should bring it into the future. You are a new creature in Christ when you are born again (1 Corinthians 5:17), and should be seeking God for a word in due season and a new revelation. Your past is over...Let's move forward with God, and not allow pain, mishaps, or issues from the past to dictate our future. Your mind should be renewing daily, which causes change...Change provides growth, and growth is the key to unlocking faith that can lead to new possibilities...

Home Is Where the Heart Is...

Mark 12:30 (ESV)
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

*There is a saying that states, "Home is where the heart is." This means that any place that captures your heart can be called home bc it is where you feel love and comfort. Well, the same idea applies towards God and the determination of how you view life daily. Wherever your heart lies is what you will focus on, and will determine how much comfort you receive. If your heart is with stuff, then the extent of you finding comfort will go as far as how that item or substance can make you feel, which is short lived. If your heart is solely with a person and your reliance on them, they are human and can disappoint you. However, if Jesus captures your heart, you are guaranteed to have the perfect person to allow your heart to find a resting place in...God should be your fortress, and where your dependency lies. He will govern things accordingly, and help guide you from experiencing more hurt then if you live a life without Him. Allow your heart to receive God's love, and give Him permission to live in you...

Looks Aren't Always Deceiving

Ephesians 4: 1-3 (ESV)

1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility
2 and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the
3 spirit in the bond of peace.

*There are many individuals that have a great calling on their lives and are in expectation of something or clarity from God, yet these same individuals do not even try to give God their all, continue to lean on their own understanding, aren't willing to change how they view others, or are still dabbing in things that are completely outside of His will. How can we be in expectation of a certain lifestyle or desire if we aren't showing enough discipline and seeking knowledge in order to be entrusted with such things? Think about it: If a person desires to be an executive of a company, but refuses to do the right thing on their current job, how can they be entrusted with an advancement? If you want to be an evangelist, but have trouble speaking lovingly to your brothers and sisters in Christ, then who can trust you with impacting the lives of strangers? Or perhaps you want a man or woman of God as a spouse, but yet you can't stop cheating on God or know how to even respect those individuals....The list goes on. We all have a calling on our lives, but those callings take preparation and dedication. Think about how many people have fallen because they weren't fully prepared for what they were seeking and received. Longevity is depicted in the love you display, your mannerism, and your ability to prepare. How are you portraying yourself vs what God called you to be?

Spirituality vs Logic

Proverbs 3:7-8  (NIV)

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

*There are times when we have tried to do, say, or advise others without consulting with God first. As humans, we often allow worldly logic to outweigh spiritual guidance, we assume, we rationalize, and we are so quick to give advice without including God in the conversation or scenario. Think about it: How many times have you made decisions based on what you know, what you assume, or past experiences without experiencing what God is trying to tell you? What's even sadder is how we try to force this way of doing and thinking on someone else without even considering the way God wants you to present things. Thus, creating a cycle God never intended that you are now responsible for. Some of us have probably even went through the extreme of cutting people off or taking a step back before you have a conversation with God. Let's work on assuming less, and listening to the Father more; rid yourself of your own wisdom, and embrace His; and lastly practice revamping your thinking to connect with your spirit rather then lean on your own understanding of what's logical.

Priority One

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. — Jeremiah 29:12-13 (NIV)

*How deep is our heart in it for Christ? It's so easy to say you love something...we love food, music, activities, etc...BUT, how deep is our love for God? Is it just words while you live an alternative lifestyle? Do you take enough time out for Him? How do you treat His people, and do you seek Him on how to treat others? Is He as important as your daily routine? God is waiting for you to fall deeply in love with Him...He is waiting to capture your heart, but is your heart willing to completely open up to Him? The higher His priority is in our lives, the deeper when can go with Him and the rest will be added (Matt. 6:33).

Free at Last

Galatians 5:1 ESV

Christ has set us free for freedom. Therefore, stand firm and don't submit to the bondage of slavery again.

*This week, be free by putting Christ at the forefront of all your decisions and way of thinking. Don't allow the cares of this world, previous decisions, regret, or past thinking to take away your freedom to start over fresh. Each day is an opportunity to be in the presence of God no matter your location. Be free in walking in love, setting your mind free of regret, removing yourself from isolation, and get rid of things u pretend to be or do week after week. Be true to yourself by letting God in to free your heart and soul through renewing your mind. Life is so precious, and it is even a blessing to have the ability to change and not confirm. After all what has your own way, or walking in the slavery of how the world tells you to go, done for you? Perhaps it is free will that will allow new opportunities if you trust God and focus less on yourself and the norm.

Grace

2 Corinthians 8:7 ESV

But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.

*You may be familiar with the saying, "When you know better, you do better." (Mya Angelou) Now, think on the meaning of that in comparison to this scripture. As you grow, or should be growing, in your understanding of faith and walking in love while developing an understanding of the importance of showing grace towards others as God shows it towards you. Thinking of it this way: Many people have compassion for a child who doesn't know any better. Therefore, you do not come down as hard on them when they mess up, but you are willing to train and explain the right way of doing things. That child may even be spared from punishment because of their lack of understanding. Now think on how God applies that towards us...Jesus hasn't came back for the second time because He is waiting on everyone to hear of and have the opportunity to except faith and the love He offers. That's the activation of grace and mercy through the understanding of love. We are responsible for doing the same: We can't expect a person on a different level or of an ungodly mindset to always understand. That's when it is our responsibility to show grace, and walk in love to teach. So, as you wrap up your week, think on those you have lost patience with or criticized and make an effort to up your tolerance through walking in love and meditating on God to activate grace in teaching them how to understand you, but most importantly see God in you...

It's Yours

1 Peter 2:9 New International Version (NIV)

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

*Sometimes we are so boggled down by failures, opinions, poor decisions, mishaps, or the normal standards of the world that we forget our own worth in the eyes of God. We have many talents, a lot to offer, and are promised the desires of our heart...yet, we settle for what doesn't challenge us, what doesn't capture our heart, an unequal yoke, or the imbalance that derives from laziness. Don't get caught up in settling, which is a trick of complacency to hold you back. If something or someone is worth it, then believe you are worthy of receiving it. If you desire it, then ask God's how it can be yours. Don't be your worst critic...be the individual that is motivated enough to seek God whole heartedly, and boldly go to His thrown to claim what He promised.

Love

Ephesians 5:1-2:

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

*Jesus is our ultimate example of how to conduct our lives, and how to walk in the fulness of the blessing of the Lord. We all have special talents, ideas, and things to share for the glory of God and to reach others. However, what good is it if you are doing your own thing with it or you don't know how to treat people? Before we can be efficient in anything, we must learn how to love...Love is the key to winning hearts and creating bonds. However, we must first learn how to love God in order to love each other more efficiently. If you are reading this, know that I love you enough to desire to listen to God and sacrifice time in hopes of drawing you nearer to Him. How do you show love? Is it enough according to God's will, or is it something you feel as though you have to do. Love is a feeling of desire, not pressure from force. How are things with your love walk?

Receiving Peace

Isaiah 32:17 (NIV)

17 The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.

*Notice how we must find peace before we can receive anything else. Finding peace can be as simple as looking at the good vs the bad, and mediating on the positivity that is in your life. Finding peace may be,easy at times, but maintaining that peace is where the challenge kicks in...Today, ask God give you peace and provide you with the wisdom and guidance on how to maintain it by staying in His will and desiring His ways. Even be aware of who or what God is trying to place in your life or remove in order to receive peace. Some of us are drowning in sorrow, the inability to fully believe or commit, or the inability to change...Let's encourage and pray for each other to let go, let God, and receive that peace that passes all understanding.

The Battle is the Lord's

Exodus 14:14 NIV

14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

*Sometimes we are so busy coming up with a plan of action to combat a situation, and do not even notice that God is already taking care of things on our behalf. You are doing extra things for nothing. Before going into combat mode, seeking revenge, or looking for a way to change things, ask God what you should do. Invite Him in your life to assist with the situation. You may find that you do not need to do anything at all, but wait on Him to declare victory and keep the faith by prayer and supplication. The battle is already won, but we have to trust in His plan of action before coming up with strategies for ourselves. People are even sent to help you, but it is your responsibility to seek God and know what to do, and how He will do it for you.

Fearlessly Inclined to Believe and Receive

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)
Don't fear, because I am with you; don't be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will surely help you; I will hold you with my righteous strong hand.

*We have all run into times when we have been in fear, skeptical, doubtful, or just down right in disbelief. All of this is attached to fear. Sure, some people would like to believe in the possibilities of God or even in His existence, but are too afraid to let go of what they know or see to truly embrace what they claim to believe. I know because I've heard it and have been there...It's easy to become fearful, but growth is in the strength of holding on and proclaiming God's promises. God has the capability to help us through anything if we are willing to let Him in fully...That is how uou walk in the foolness of God. He has the answer if we are willing to receive it, yet fear can overshadow our thoughts and consume us with concern. This same fear is meant to distract you from remembering His promises, and what He has done for you over and over again. Now imagine His capabilities if we could fully learn to trust and live for Him. I challenge you today to look for an opportunity to shine for God by helping someone remove the darkness developed from fear. You may find that you learn what's eating you during the process....There is no power in fear, but power is in God and His capability to strengthen and deliver.

Freedom From Your Free Will

Galatians 5:13-14 (CEB)
You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only don't let this freedom be an opportunity to indulge your selfish impulses, but serve each other through love. All the Law has been fulfilled in a single statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.

*We wake up  daily with the freedom to choose whatever we desire to do. God gave us ths ability to make our own choices, regardless to whether or not it lines up with the word. However, we have to ask ourselves if we want to suffer with just settling for God's permissible will or living through the perfect will. It's easy to settle, live a double life, accept your choices over His best, and find a quick solution out of selfishness. However, it can be trying but worth the wait to receive things or a person that is tailored to you; walk in love and think outside yourself to sacrifice for someone else; and submit completely to His will without yielding to temptations. Notice that one path helps you grow and move forward in life while the other allows complacency and a stationary lifestyle. Don't be so caught up in your own freedom to do what you please, and end up missing out on His ability to free you from your current situation.

Grow with One Another

Ephesians 1:18 (NIV)

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people...

*This week, I pray that we all truly develop an understanding of why we have been placed on Earth; the importance of our calling vs just going through life; and that we no longer embrace only what we've come to know, but be willing to receive and grow in what God has promised. We settle because we are afraid of being disappointed; we give up because we don't understand how precious we are to God and His plan; and we become emotional because we haven't truly cast our cares on God. Let's help each other grow and find balance according to the will of God because we are the body of Christ and cannot function without one another; we all have strengths and functions that can help one another; and it is meant for iron to sharpen iron...not allow it to become dull and useless. We are human and capable of mistakes, but we are also meant to bounce back in those areas by loving one another.

The Golden Rule

Galatians 6:10 (NIV)

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

*In order to understand and properly love on those who aren't saved, you must understand the heart of those who are born again... Those who actually made the choice to come to God despite their flaws.  Work on understanding how to uplift and assist those within the body of Christ in order to grow together. If people see unity, love, and how we should be assisting each other in prosperity within the body, then it will cause those out of fellowship to desire God. We are often harder on those within the body of Christ, despite the fact they are still growing, but passive with those who outright deny and disrespect God. Love and truth should be displayed to both parties as a way of persuasion and edification for all people. We are all created in God's image and if you learn to see people in that light, you will know how to treat them right.

Healing in Confessing

James 5:16 NIV

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

*There are so many people who continue to live in pain from the past, habits of the old man, fear from what they have previously experienced, or shame from mistakes committed. It is our responsibility to provide love towards each other in order to help people overcome. Yes, God said we are suppose to be a new creature in Christ once we are saved (2 Corinthians 5:17), but the process of renewing the mind is a DAILY task, and God never intended for you to go through that process completely by being alone. Think about it: There are some of us who are stronger in areas then areas, and have overcome and are heading to the next phase of growth and grace. Yet, what good is that strength if you don't use it to strengthen someone else? What good is your testimony if you aren't open to understanding someone who is going through the exactly same thing, and if you aren't willing to walk in love with your guidance? Even more so, what good is your guidance and attitude of "been there, done that" if your goal is to chastise your brothers and sisters rather then be the vessel that leads them to God's healing? This is why people stay in the world, sit in church with issues, or hide their feelings and continue to suffer. Let's find love in understanding, healing in confession, the will to be honest with each other on what you are going through, and be in expectation of God's healing as we join our faith together to overcome. It's about more then just you...It's about the will of God.

What is Your Motivation?

Matthew 6:2-4 (NIV)

2 So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

*When we do things, we need to examine the motive behind it: Are you doing it to be seen, be different, to get things, because you feel like you should? OR, are you doing things according to God's will, in order to be obedient, and because you love Him? In today's society, we announce every little thing we do, experience, or feel on social media. People have their own fictitious world created to pretend, show off, or gain attention from others. Yet, none of it may be who you truly are or what is actually happening in your life. Some are even in competition with each other, which is unnecessary and adding strain to yourself. At the end of the day, God knows why you do things and who it is for...So, are you going to be real with Him and revamp your ways for His pleasure? OR, do you plan to keep putting up a front? It's one thing to try and fall short, but it's another to show out and not have an interest in practicing what you preach. Be bold for God, but bc it is for Him...not for the attention of others.

Living with a Purpose

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NIV)

21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

*No matter what you are involved in, what you may have done in the past, or no matter how independent u may feel, u still belong to God. He is calling u every minute of the day, and is asking you to be saved, seriously rededicate your life to Him, grow in Him, build a relationship with Him, and include Him in your decision making. I know it becomes hard, tempting to step outside of the guidelines, or perhaps you are unsure if you can completely dedicate yourself. However, God is not looking for perfection...He is looking for diligence and loyalty. He even wants to help you with things you struggle with daily. Trust me, WE ALL have things to work on. However, God can assist if you open up and truly try Him. There is no failure in trying...the failure is when you choose to assume and not completely let go and give it your best. Let Him do the rest....

Where is Your Focus?

Romans 8:5-6 (ESV)
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

*It's the beginning of the work week, and I'm sure some of you are thinking about your " to do" list, wondering why did the weekend have to end, or dreading the responsibilities to come. In going deeper, some of you may even feel caught in a cycle and wondering when will your change come? Perhaps you may even think you are on the right path, but yet you can't seem to receive whatever it is that you desire. In that instance, take the time to ask yourself, "What is my mind focused on?" Are you mainly focused on yourself or the things that concern God? Do you have issues with being truthful about your current situation and how your choices are impacting your life? Perhaps you may have envy, regret, disgruntle tendencies, or lack of Godly prioritizing in your heart that is serving as the very thing that is holding you back. Where is your focus today, and does it line up with what God wants you to focus on? The flesh finds many distractions, but the spirit is always looking for spiritual opportunities of improvement, growth, and the ability to find joy in any given situation. Revamp your focus in order to see things differently, and receive what you have been missing out on...

Proverbs Motivation: Mouth Control

Proverbs 18:1-8 (ESV)
Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, 2 but only in expressing his opinion. When wickedness comes, contempt comes also, 3 and with dishonor comes disgrace. The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; 4 the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook. It is not good to be partial to the wicked 5 or to deprive the righteous of justice. A fool's lips walk into a fight, 6 and his mouth invites a beating. A fool's mouth is his ruin, 7 and his lips are a snare to his soul. The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
8 they go down into the inner parts of the body.

*Notice how God used eight verses to zone in on consequences and behaviors that are all developed from what comes out of your mouth, which first began in the development of your thoughts. Also notice how He concludes with depicting how meekness has more of an impact then being aggressive, abrasive, overpowering, or ignorant towards understanding the mentality of others. In the Bible, eight signifies a new beginning, and God wants us to divide and concur our old habits (as seven stands for completion, and the behaviors and consequences are depicted in verses 1-7). Yet, we should find a new beginning (referencing verse eight) once we agree to allow the Father to align our words, which begins with aligning our thoughts. What you say often coincides with what you are thinking. How is the reflection of your brain depicted through your tone and words? Better yet, how are your words and tone depicting how you represent God, and what you are truly believing and applying daily? No wonder so many have trouble communicating, or moving forward because their words and mindset don't align with where they are trying to get to... Don't allow this to be you...May the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart be acceptable in God's sight.

You and Your Mouth

James 3:7-9 (NIV)

7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in Gods likeness.

*It's so easy to speak poorly about individuals, especially when they have done you wrong. It's as though humans are accustom to scrutinizing others, and placing people under a microscope to find something to scrutinize. It's even easier for some to utilize negative words against scenarios and discuss our flaws rather then embrace yourself and look for the positivity. Yes, we live in a negative world and sure people upset us. However, we must view people the way God sees them and realize their value and considers the fact that we are made in His image. We are also told that iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). However, how can you sharpen and shun at the same time? How can we confuse walking in love with cursing an individual? Call those things as they are not and learn to watch your mouth...You could be talking  yourself out of a blessings, acting rude toward someone u may need to use, or underestimating the power of God to manifest.

Verbal Lessons

Proverbs 15:28 (ESV)
The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

*The cliche "think before you speak" is very accurate in this case. Sometimes we are so quick to speak with our emotions, have discussions based on what we have been through or experienced, or allow our tongues to dictate the final outcome before consulting with God on how to answer or thinking things through. Take the time to put a guard over your mouth, and ask the Father how to answer to any given situation. It doesn't necessarily have to be from a negative point either. If you are hesitant to speak words of love and security, then it is time to examine your heart; if you are being prompted to embrace, but can't let go of speaking on things of the past, it is time to examine the complacency of your mindset; and if you are having trouble speaking positively, it is time to reaffirm why you should be grateful. Watch your words, guard your mouth, and allow your heart and mind to receive ths wisdom of God...

Appearance Can Beg the Differ

Proverbs 28:25 (NIV)

The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the LORD will prosper.

*Often, people fight against what God is trying to show or give to them without even realizing what they are doing. They find any way to be negative about the situation or individual, or embrace a level of skepticism and apprehension before being optimistic. If God is in it, all that He brings will be clearly noted that it is from Him. Any conflict that arises is the enemy trying to take it away from you. Don't allow the enemy to be victorious by influencing your mind. Sometimes the greatest blessings show up in the oddest packages, but you have to be willing to listen to God on whether this is your special delivery or if you should return to sender. Our Father is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), but He doesn't leave the window of opportunity open for long either. Embrace your moment of peace, seize your desire, have an open mind towards differences, and stop considering conflict before confirmation. Sometimes what we think is a diamond is only worth a dime, and what looks crazy is actually the craziest blessing you could ever encounter...Help us see your blessings for what they truly are Lord, and not what we want them to be...

Me, Myself, and I

Romans 13:11 (KJV)
And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

*Many people call themselves believers, but rarely take heed to the power and capabilities of what that title truly means. They are sleeping on their capabilities and daily favor wiyh possibility...We hold the ability to impact the world on a daily basis, to look beyond ourselves and people who make up our own little world, and see life for more then just the daily activities we are use to partaking in....There are so many people who naturally wake up in the morning dreading the day, frustrated because someone didn't give them their way, or are naturally consumed with themselves and their plans. However, life is about more then you, yourself, and your world..There are people reaching out, and waiting to be impacted daily; souls that need saving, and lives awaiting the influence of Godly change that lives in you; or even just people outside yourself that need your compassion or just your respect that they have feelings and a life too. It is amazing how we are consumed with ourselves, how we are so quick to have an attitude, or willing to provide an unnecessary opinion or take action about things that do not matter....YET, rarely or never consult God as to what to say or how to move forward. Yes, we are human, make mistakes, have needs, and desire attention. However, imagine if you were capable of finding the balance of giving others attention just as much as you give yourself. Of course be led by God in these efforts because we need balance. (I for one have found myself being overly utilized, and have needed to take a step back.) However, when God sees that you are consumed with yourself or what you can get out of others, (be it bc of greed or bc you feel like they owe you something), that is a major problem. Let's take the time to look beyond ourselves this week, and not just see it your way...See things the way God wants you to view it/him/her. We are living in the last days...Taking action and being selfless with balance is needed more then you know. Learn to understand just as much as you desire...

Individuality in the Body

1 Peter 2:15 (KJV) - For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men...

*Many people believe that the kindness of God no longer exists in man, that everyone is selfish, or out to take advantage. There are others who also believe that a kind person is stupid, clueless, or has to do anything because they are Christian. This IS NOT SO...there are people who still can operate in common sense to go along with discernment;individuals do not have to put up with or take anything even if they are nice; and you can still exercise kindness and cast down things at the same time. Your ability to operate under God's authority while exuding love is designed to silence the ignorance of men and women who use worldly classifications, and believe that things only mean one thing or can occur one way. By the same token, it is also designed to help self righteous Christians broaden their minds, and add variety to show how God thinks and reacts. Remember, we are all different yet created in His image. However, that image is made up of much variety in the body of Christ. Therefore, let your light shine to silence ignorance of statistics or unproven no how, but operate in accordance to who God called you to be...

Growing Pains

2 Corinthians 7:1 (NIV)

7Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

*Look at your life and exam how God has blessed...Now, think about how much greater those blessings can be if we would walk in the fullness of the wonders of His love. Sometimes we don't experience or receive what we desire because we have to be shaped and molded for the next level, while other times it is because we choose to stifle our own growth process. We let a "little but of sin" cause us to miss out on a lot because we refuse to fully dedicate ourselves to Him. I know most people see nothing wrong with doing things in moderation, but think about it this way: How much faster would you receive your desired results if you actually took the time to clean up your act, and truly put effort in to fully serving Him? Let's work on being motivated to clean up our acts...Out with old and in with new lifestyle of Godly choices. You know when something isn't right just as well as how you know to do the right thing to obtain results. Is a little but of sin really worth stunting your growth?

The Pleasure of Peace

Proverbs 16:7 NIV

7 When the LORD takes pleasure in anyones way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.

*If we are focused on God and constantly seek Him, peace has no choice but to follow us. God honors your ways, and clears our paths. Even your enemies are drawn to the light of God that is growing in you. If the favor of the Lord is upon you, and u delight yourself in His ways, that peace that falls on you from obedience and guidance has the ability to transfer to others as well. Take it a step further by exuding peaceful responses and reactions, and watch how the boomerang effect causes the same element to come back to you. Whatever you sow is what you will reap (Galatians 6:9); therefore, delight yourself in God in order to obtain the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4) while He keeps you in perfect peace no matter who or what you face (Isaiah 26:3). Let's lift each other in prayer regarding the receipt of that peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

Our Primary Source

Romans 15:13 KJV

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing ,that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

*Our primary source for hope, edification of our faith and the ability to receive peace is with us all the time. Yet, people will often forget to use Him. God has the power to help you heal, move forward, forgive, forget, or trust again. However, we must remember to utilize Him. Many people automatically try do rely on their own strength, request to be given some space, or "stay in their feelings." You may think you are helping yourself, but you are actually prolonging the situation and your ability to heal faster. The longer you take the slower the healing process will be, and you may find that you miss out on other things. Don't become solely caught up in your own methods or the opinions of others on how to handle things. Ask God to restore your peace, fill you with hope, and enhance your joy in order to give you a brighter outlook on your situation and life.

New Horizons

Psalm 51:10 ESV
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

*God is waiting for the opportunity to give us new experiences, new beginnings, and things we have never encountered; however, we must clear our minds from the things we are use to and what we normally would assume in order to embrace something new. It's so easy to refer back to an old experience, and ex, old friends, or any type of connection that makes us feel comfortable because of it's familiarity. However, God often wants to remove those thoughts of complacency if we are willing to be open to new things. Ask God to create a new mindset and heart within you in order to accept the possibility of change, His desire to rearrange, and the opportunity to help your spirit grasp the concept of new domains and people that are waiting on your connection if you're willing to follow proper direction. Anything is possible if we alleviate ourselves of what we know, be willing to open ourselves up to grow, and take on opportunities to go to uncharted territories that we've always imagined. Change is good if you are honest with yourself, and are willing to explore the many possibilities on the horizon...We've only just begun to hit the tip of the iceberg. Don't stop now...

Hearts Clear

Proverbs 16:23 (KJV)
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

*Whatever we choose to discuss or say is often a reflection of.where our hearts lie. For instance if you are a negative person, negativity will flow from your mouth. If you gossip, are hurt, want others to see it your way, or like to complain it won't be long before what is within you and what you believe about a person or circumstance will come out. Some people may be good at hiding who they truly are, but the heart never lies. The beliefs of the heart will eventually be displayed through actions or verbal behavior. Therefore, if you wonder why people do not want to be bothered with you or why aren't you moving in the right direction, ask God where is your heart and think on what has your mouth been saying? Also know that God's love attracts people for those who may be experiencing gravitation. Not only do your words and feelings impact others, but the wellbeing of yourself as well. This is why it is important to spend time with God in order to renew your mind and heart, which will in turn align your words. Remember, blessings and curses (curse words included) can't come out of the mouth without conflict (James 3:10); gossip and talking badly about someone to change the mindset of others should be null and voided (Ephesians 4:29); and love should prevail. Let's help each other grow stronger in this area.

What Does Independence Mean?

John 7:17 ESV

If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.

*Today marks our country's freedom and independence. The day when our nation separated itself, and stood on its own two feet. Guess who else gives us that opportunity? Our gracious Father in Heaven. He gives us free will, but the only difference is the fact that we never have independence. How is that? Well, in life you have basically two choices: 1. The choice to completely follow God's guidance, or 2.The choice to be vulnerable to the things of this world. The devil likes to disguise the latter of the two as independence. Sure, if you claim to make your own "luck," decide your own fate, or "do what you gotta do" you are making a choice. However, it is not one that necessarily illustrates independence. Instead, you have just decided to place your life into the hands of evil by removing God's protection through leaving His will, and accept what consequences come from that choice. This is also known as God's permissible will. You are always going to be a child of God, but since you chose to revoke your right to have access to His guidance, you are now open to the elements of going through unnecessary hardships or short-lived successes that you were never suppose to experience in the first place. So when you say you are independent today, truly sit back and think about what that means. Are you independent of the perfect will of God and all the grace and long term prosperity that comes with it, or are you permitting yourself to be used by the enemy to solely serve his agenda and purpose while reeking havoc upon your own wellbeing?

Independent Food 4 Thought

Since we are suppose to be celebrating independence on the 4th, let's celebrate our right to be who God has called us to be and not what society wants us to conform to or become...#FreeWill

Proverbs Challenge

Hi all...join my friends and I as we revisit one of the greatest books of wisdom. There is still time to catch up!

Something New, Not Old

Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

*Many people have a habit of taking their past into their current or future situations....You may always compare and contrast your current lifestyle to a past situation that caused suffering or challenges your way of thinking. What's even worse is if you try to inflict these thoughts on people who had nothing to do with your past and are ready to be a part of a new future with you. Yet sadly you are afraid to embrace  freedom from complacency, or you may be protecting your feelings because you are too busy living in the prison of past mistakes. When we decide or decided to FOR REAL turn our loves over to Christ, old things passed away and God gave you a clean slate. He even wants you to adopt a new mindset because you are no longer under the submission of the world's standards, but under His grace and guidance to a life where grace abounds towards you (2 Corinthians 9:8), and a life with a better and more expected ending (Jeremiah 29:11). Therefore stop holding back, stop trying to inflict your fears on others by disguising them as concerns, and embrace the good things God gives you rather then trying to find something wrong with it/him/her. In being transparent, I get it...I understand that new things make us nervous or it is easy to doubt rather then be optimistic. However let's pray for each other that we stay focused on the positive (Philippians 4:8) before we remember the negativity of our past, or the inflicting issues the world tries to bring. God wants to create a new circumstance even in an unattractive situation. Are you ready for something new?

Maturity Check

1 Corinthians 14:20 (ESV)

20Brothers, do not be children in
your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

*Why is it that people are often mature in nature when it comes to plotting unethically thinking and doing, especially when it comes to their own circumstances, but still claim to be in the will of God and expect blessings from Him? Many can see the wrong in others, but have every excuse in the book as to why they do what they do, or how their behavior is excusable because they didn't have a choice. This is definitely called child-like behavior...Always quick to point out the faults of others, but never desiring to admit or own up to your own; continuously complacent with participating in bad behaviors or making poor choices, bet yet never bothering to view let alone try proper alternatives; lastly, making excuses as to why it is ok to stay in a mess, and being overly sensitive when God tries to guide. Yet, this individual is often quick to verbalize their opinion of others or circumstances. Can we take a moment to evaluate this type of mentality? Let's not be children in our thinking when it comes to speaking upon things unless you fully know the circumstance, and have been given permission by God  to be used as a vessel  to HELP the situation. Even more so, when it comes to ourselves, let's be more sensitive and maintain innocence in staying away from evil behavior, things that are not pleasing to God, and assist in loving and creating peace with each other rather then be definitive towards it. May our thinking mature, in order to develop the proper mindset, to be able to handle what you are seeking God for...After all, how can we be entrusted with greater if we are immature in our current circumstances?

Cycles Solidify Growth

Hebrews 10:36 ESV

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.

*Even though it is the devil who gives us trials, it is God who edifies us during these trying times to prepare us for the next level and provide endurance. As you grow deeper in your relationship with God, you may find that the enemy sends things to confuse or discourage you; however, never forget that behind every type of adversity is the forthcoming of a blessing...The blessing often corresponds with the adversity you are facing; therefore the greater the adversity, the bigger the blessing. Also be thankful during this time  and exercise your ability to ask God what you should be learning, and observe how you are being better equipped to handle your blessing. Look at it like this: Many followers of the devil obtain great things, but lose it all because they were never prepared, equipped, or edified with the proper endurance on how to conduct themselves at that level. On the other hand, believers may experience more at times, but if guided by God, suffer less upon being rewarded and maintain their enheritance that is created to receive longevity. These gifts and blessings are suppose to continuously grow and withstand the test of time REGARDLESS to what the enemy tries to throw at you. Remember, a quick fix or a simplistic road to success can be easily snatched away, especially if you don't understand what you have... However, the grace that covers you to endure and obtain greater with God lasts a lifetime. Don't settle for taking good things in spurts, but look for ways to continue success no matter what it takes because God is with you and you have the power to endure. Remember, God wants you to have health and prosperity as your soul prospers (3 John 2); therefore, growing pains may occur, but beauty behind maturing will last a lifetime.

Loving Knowledge is Power

Love builds up while knowledge puffs up...May knowledge build up your mindset and transfer the truth to your heart on how to exude a greater love...Without love, u only hold arrogant intelligence that no one wishes to be bothered with...~Inspired by Freedom Radio #WhereIsYourLove???

Versatility in Communicating

Colossians 4:6 (KJV)

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

*Every person that you encounter is different and should be treated as such. You will not handle everyone with the same mannerism due to these differences, and you may find that the connection will differ with each correspondent. Therefore, do not group one race, culture, sex, or creed as being all the same. Also, do not adopt this mentality that people can be treated the same. Instead, ask God how to approach them and treat them in order to uncover how to properly communicate with them, and how to broaden your mind on how to treat others. We all came from different backgrounds, and have different levels of understanding. However, we are all capable of connecting if we learn to walk in love.

There is Deliverance in the Light

Ephesians 5:8-10 (NIV)

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord.

*When you accept God into your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and savior, you no longer fade into the masses as the norm...You now stand out, and hold the responsibility of helping others see the entrapment and complacency of darkness in order to guide them to the deliverance and authenticity of the light. However, some of us forget our responsibility and feed into the temptations and distractions that darkness brings. We look back at things and debate if life was easier on the other side; we become caught up in reminiscing about the so called "fun" days that only led us to a continuous loop of foolishness, and hindered us from growing; or some of us are too afraid to embrace the potential for change, and hold on to what we know and have experienced before. However, God is telling u to let it go!...ALL OF IT! Being in the light may seem foreign or even hard at times because you may be still holding on to that comfort and ability to hide in darkness...Yet, hiding never allowed you to be found in order to be relocated into betterment. Instead, you were just bumping around in the same spot, while suffering unnecessary contusions from being hit by what you were too blind to see. Allow God to shine light on your situation, provide you with clear guidance, and remove you from elements of darkness that should no longer cover up the brightness of the future He has for you. Find out what path would enhance your circumstance and please God, without further delay or entanglement with things that need to be exposed and disposed. How can you ever move forward if you are lugging around garbage, and unable to properly see where you are going?

A Gift That Should Keep On Giving

2 Timothy 1:6-8 English Standard Version (ESV)

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

* Paul is reminding us that we all have a gift inside that has been tailor-made specifically for us, and it aligns with our purpose that God placed on our lives. The problem is that we do not explore the essence of that gift, the possibilities that come with it, try to uncover what it is, or are too busy to even dedicate that gift back to God. Instead, we may allow our degrees, careers, other people, or even mishaps in life to defer us from our gift that could potentially unlock our dreams and desires of our heart. The same power that Paul had with the laying of His hands, and ability to persevere and excel with His gift (regardless of the circumstance) is the same power that lives in us. We hold the power to spark a desire to explore our gift, share it with love, and implement it with a sound mind no matter what other titles people try to place on us or whether or not the gift is accepted. God gave it to you, and it was meant to be utilized...not just for the sake of enhancing God's kingdom, but to give you a rewarding experiencing of enhancing your life as well. How sweet is our God for wanting to bestow such a thing upon us? Therefore, don't let life pass you by through embracing what others try to place upon you because you are too afraid to step outside of the norm. Find freedom in embracing your gifts and talents, and allow God to guide you in this process of being authentic and a blessing for others.
