The Ability to Love

Matt. 22:37-39
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

*One of the amazing things about love is that it is a free gift...a gift that has the power to warm the heart and change even the coldest individual. Loving God, ppl, and yourself, are mentioned several times throughout the Bible. Do u know why? It is bc it is one of the most important entities that helps us survive. God knows we need love to keep us going, and help us overcome the cares and bitterness of the world. Most importantly, loving someone is an act of faith that opens the door of trust. By opening your heart to not just love, but be loved, u are allowing the protection layers of what u have gone through in life to come off in order to let healing and rebuilding begin. Now, imagine if u open your heart up completely to the Lord...He is waiting to love u, heal you emotionally, and bring you affirmations of love to show how much he appreciates your faith and ability to trust Him.

Notice the order of love in the scripture: We have to first love Him completely before we are able to truly love anyone else. Love God in order to not just love others, but to truly embrace and love yourself. U need confidence to love others, and God is the first that can assist u with this process. Plus, u never know what a person is going through, and who is waiting on u to open up in order to receive your love today...it could be your mate, family, friends, or someone u don't even know. Your life is not your own...u are attached to someone, so love, let go, and live.
