Deception vs Discernment

Colossians 2:8 ESV
See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

*Many times, others would like to utilize their spiritual tendencies and discernment to dictate what u should do and when u should conduct things in your life. Dictatorships are not orthodoxed methods of God, which is why He wants u to establish your own personal relationship with Him. What works for the goose isn't necessarily what works for the gander; therefore learn to seek God's guidance for yourself to recognize the necessary tools and steps that have been developed for your own unique situation. Now, don't get me wrong: There is nothing wrong with seeking guidance and admiring the capability and discernment of others. Of course, that is why u should attend church at the least in order to obtain that guidance. However, don't allow someone else's word from God dictate your final outcome. He has methods and solutions that are tailor-made for you. Also do not allow the world, pressures of it, or the hustle mentality to move you either. Know that human influence should be taken if God told u He put that person in your life to help. Otherwise, u may be setting yourself up for deception, taking on an assignment that you were not suppose to participate in, or suffer unnecessary hardships. Do u in the way God wants to see u through.
