Trusting God 2 Avoid A Temper

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29 NKJV

*When I tell you that I literally have to practice this daily,  I mean I actively have to stop myself from thinking things...Particularly when I see foolishness, racism, or a person who just needs a dose of reality. My flesh wants to just let them have it...I mean just give them a piece, especially racists. It is always the folks who shouldn't be talking about ANYONE who have the most to say...Yet, God tells me "Now, what is that going to accomplish, baby girl. All you're doing is raising your blood pressure, and you are two seconds away from creating conflict." If I didn't have God, I would be in trouble..My mind, temper, and this heart that feels sorry for others is only because of God. It is rough when you feel like you are the only one who gets it or sees injustice, but it is then that you lean on God and not act on emotions.

Setting the Stage for Love

We love Him because He first loved us. I John 4:19 NKJV

*To receive love,  you must show it...Set the tone, and show love I'm order to set the stage of creating peace and obtaining love. Even if you don't receive it from a likely source, your sowing sets the stage to receive it regardless of the source. If you sow it, you will reap it. This chapter is also the standard of God's love. As humans, we will not be perfect like this love, but we can strive to be like Christ.

Putting Away Bitterness

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: Ephesians 4:31 KJV

*To be transparent,  I have thought about a few negative things, especially regarding those who have done things to you and they try to come back and talk to you. In the back of my mind, I am thinking "How dare you have the nerve to come and carry on a friendly chat, and even think we are going to be friends, after all the lying and rudeness you've done." Truth be told, you don't have to be friends with them. However, you do have to get rid of your disgust, aka bitterness, in order to love them even from a distance. Otherwise, you may be ready to slap them every time. People are a trip, but you don't have to be. Let's allow the love of God to help is find forgiveness, and put away negative thoughts, without allowing it to effect how we please God.

Getting Rid of Bitter Distractions

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Hebrews 12:15 KJV

*Bitterness is designed to block you from your blessing, and also distract you from focusing on His promise instead of the issue. Remove bitterness in order to remove a blockage that can cause issues later. Ask God for healing and guidance in that area.

Good Character

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. Proverbs 10:9 KJV

*Perversion is always exposed, and meant to embarrass the individual at the least. Practicing good character will keep your name from being tarnished, keep you from misrepresenting God, and avoid exposure. No one is perfect, but remembering whose you are and who you serve will keep you in line.

Let Go & Let God

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV

*Sometimes I feel like fainting...Not on God, but with everything that needs to be done, or sometimes I just want to give up on things that have not arrived yet. Hope deferred makes the heart sick,  but the moment the sickness wants to arise, I ask God to help me. He gives me strength. I even become weary  with His people because it is tiring to understand everyone, but you aren't always uplifted or poured into.  All that is a distraction from the positivity in my life, and the relationship I have with God. Taste and see that God is good, and He carries us through.

Tongue Control

He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3 KJV

*May the words of our mouth, and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in God's site. Many times people kill bonds, ruin opportunities, misrepresent, and ruin trust based on what they say. May God help guard and guide our tongues, and may we surrender it to Him.
