The Power of Love

1 Corinthians 13:6-7

It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

*A person who truly loves u does not like to see u down, will never withhold the truth from u, knows how to lovingly deliver the truth, and is there for u through thick and thin. Love always prays for and wants the best for u, and believes in you regardless of the world's standards or perception. Love sees greater in you and helps u realize your full potential. The power of love is amazing if we not only know how to use it, but choose to open ourselves up enough to give and receive this type of love as well.

The Wonders of Words

Proverbs 12:18

18 There is one whose rash words
are like sword thrusts,
but the tongue of the wise brings
healing.

*There is so much power in what we say and how we say it. Ever wonder why someone reacts to your words in a manner you didn't expect? Perhaps it is the wording u chose and the tone in which u provided. This doesn't necessarily due to negative usage...sometimes we give the wrong impression bc u have not learned how to cater your communication towards different audiences. For instance, the manner in which u talk to a child is not how u should speak to an adult. The way u make talk to your partner is not how u should speak to another person of the same sex. Perhaps u may have down to earth mannerisms that should be used for those with the same behaviors, while others may require more TLC when u speak with them. The best way to know how to provide healing through your words rather then strife is through seeking God...ask Him how to talk to ppl; examine His mannerisms in how he conducted His conversations. The Father tells us to walk in love, but we often try to add are own personal touch of attitude or bluntness to drive a point home. However, that is not always necessary. Communication is definitely an art form, and there are so many ways to paint the picture. Let's go beyond using primary colors aka speaking in one consistent manner, and let's learn to diversify our color palette. ;-)

Consistency to Avoid Complacency

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without
ceasing, 18 give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is the will of
God in Christ Jesus for you.

*Sometimes how you react and handle your present circumstance determines whether or not u are ready for a supernatural promotion. Giving thanks to God when u don't feel like it, worshipping Him despite how u feel about the messenger, and being obedient regardless to the circumstance is all a part of staying consistent in your prayer and worship lifestyle. When it comes to seeking and loving God, it isn't based on a matter of convenience, your attitude, or how u feel towards something...it is whether or not u know and believe he is there for u regardless to what it looks like; he will never leave or forsake u no matter how u may feel or have been treated; and he is immovable unless we personally ask him to leave. Rejoice to let him know that U KNOW he has your back. Speak love and peace to let him know u understand the power and authority he has given u. It is so easy to cop out when things aren't going your way. How about taking the high road of praise for once?*

We Are What We Teach

Proverbs 22:6

New King James Version (NKJV)
6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

The Bible shows us that if we train up a child based on the word and with good standards, the child will not depart from these thoughts of training. This is completely true...think about it: The things u were taught when u were younger have probably manifested and have been carried into your adulthood. U may search for those things to uphold a certain standard, maintain security, and you may believe without those things u will not have balance. Perhaps what u were taught even influences how u view ppl, how u treat them, and sets the tone for the types of relationships u have or desire. Our parents can be our #1 influencers, which can make or break a person as a whole. The next time u go through something for the umpteenth time, ask yourself why u are doing something, or tell yourself that u sound like your parent then think of this verse. God has the power to retrain, re-teach, or re-program if needed and you invite Him in your life to do so (1John 1:9), but until then, u are what u have been taught. Now ask yourself if that's a good or a bad thing?

The Power of the Tongue

This one hit home only a moment ago:

Matt. 5:37-"But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay; for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil."

The words we speak not only hold power, but plant a seed in our lives. We can turn one thought into an extreme of different interpretations based on one word alone. Think about it: I can tell u I like something, and u may think I am trying to throw off a hint, clue, or u may over-analyze it to have a meaning that is totally different from my thought process initially. This is why it is important to speak the word only, be clear and concise in your communication, and don't beat around the bush. Otherwise, there is room for not just miscommunication, but an implant of a weed in your harvest of positivity.

Wait 2 Get Your Big Break

Luke 11:13

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

*As believers, sometimes we have to wait on the manifestation of our blessings, and be in good cheer and in faith while doing so. However, there are times when this task isn't easy and u may even begin to wonder if God forgot about u or if it will even come to pass. U may have even experienced someone obtaining the blessing u have been hoping and waiting for during your trial. I've definitely been and still going through that, but it is important to know that God has not forgotten about u, especially if u have been obedient and sown the proper seeds. It just often takes a little longer to put in place a blessing that is so great that it blows u away. God does not hand His children things or ppl haphazardly. He loves u so much that he pays attention to every little detail in order to perfectly craft it, so u will be able to tell that what u have desired is real and strictly from Him. This is often why ppl in the world blow away things like money or relationships don't last bc it is slung at them so fast and it was so unprepared for that they didn't know what to do with it when they had it. However, believers know what to do bc your test is preparing u on how to handle the real McCoy...the big fish out of  all the little ones! Even those little blessings are given to u for sustainability, so count it all joy and stay in faith...the best is yet to come! Now, don't be afraid to take it when He shows up and shows out...Have an awesome Saturday and keep your eyes open! :-)

Reward Preparation

Proverbs 22:4

4 The reward for humility and fear of
the Lord
is riches and honor and life.

*We all like rewards and acknowledgments for doing well in something... However, in order to get the reward and the best possible results, are we willing to listen to instruction and implement directions without using our own personal modifications? In this scripture, it is as simple as fearing God enough to be concerned with how he views your efforts and behavior, and humbling ourselves enough to accept direction and know we can't walk in complete fulfillment unless we remove self out of the way and can take heed to instruction. Yet, we are often still trying to modify or tweak things bc WE believe they need adjustments or WE feel something doesn't meet our expectation or cater to our personality. However, have u ever suspected that God wants to see how u handle something in a different light in order to test your abilities and know if u are capable of handling what u truly desire? Perhaps he wants u to receive practice or a trial run b4 placing u on the actual race track. Are u humble enough to realize that practicing turns into mastering something in order to utilize it to its full capacity? It is safe to say that humility leads to guidance, and guidance leads to better understanding, which often saves us time and confusion. Let's practice reading the manual that the Father has given us to perfect things b4 we start trying to play with or figure out "new toys."
