Friendship At Its Not So Finest

Proverbs 18:24

King James Version (KJV)
24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother...

*Transparency momenty:

I consider myself to be a kind-hearted, friendly person that treats others how I would like to be treated. At times, I become tired and want to rebel against being bothered, especially with females. For me, it was always easy to deal with males. They were fun, not complicated, and pretty direct unless there was a hidden agenda to date me. Yet, I longed for estrogen. However, I became tired of the stares, jealousy, and annoyance felt from others because I tried to love them. Therefore, I eventually adopted the "the if you are not speaking to me, then I do not have to be bothered with you" attitude. However, that behavior is definitely not Godly. I have even prayed for strength to deal with the feminine attitude of jealousy, which I cant understand. My thing is if she is pretty, doing well for herself, or if she has traits you admire then why not compliment her? If she is friendly with you, then why give her the stank face in return? Neverless, I find that women, especially those that call themselves Christians, are the worst at showing themselves friendly. Even I, the bubbley person who tries to understand the other person's perspective, starts to fall short of wanting to be nice to these women who know better. Yet, God continues to bring them my way as a test, even when I do not want to be bothered.

Now, please know that every woman is not meant to be your bff or friend. However, that factor should not stop you from being kind.I am sharing this with you as a moment to be honest, but also to make us all aware of our attitudes. What is sadly amazing is that it is easy for those who claim to love God to treat each other poorly, while people who do not know anything about Him can often be the kindest. Sounds like an issue, right? Let us pray for one another and practice what we preach, especially in this area. How can we expect to bring the lost in with love if we cannot even show ourselves friendly to one another? So, women if you are reading this, regardless of your age, race, beliefs, or demeanor, know that I am praying for us all and you are beautiful. Uplift one another because the very person you snub today may be your test tomorrow...or, perhaps the attitudes we portray keep us from receiving our connective blessings that we may need the most. Love u, and love others...
